Does The Sony a6000 Work With Imaging Edge Webcam?

💡 While the Sony a6000 is a very popular mirrorless camera, unfortunately it does not work with the Imaging Edge Webcam software. 

Luckily there are other ways to use the Sony a6000 as a webcam.

Other Ways to Use The Sony a6000 as a Webcam

If you do want to use your Sony a6000 as a streaming device, then don’t worry because there are alternate ways to use your Sony a6000 as a webcam. 

You can use a HDMI capture card like the Elgato Cam Link 4K to use the Sony A6000 as a HDMI webcam.

You will need the following:

• Your Sony a6000 camera 
• Elgato Cam Link 4K
• Micro HDMI (Type D) to HDMI (Type A) cable
• Dummy battery kit (optional)

The video below by Elgato shows you how to use the above items to use your Sony a6000 with the Elgato Cam Link 4K. It’s pretty easy.

Other Cameras Compatible With Imaging Edge Webcam

The product code/name for the Sony a6000 is ILCE-6000.

As you can see from the screenshot below, the ILCE-6000 does not show up in the list of compatible cameras for Imaging Edge Webcam.

There are other similar Sony cameras that can be used as a USB webcam with the Imaging Edge Webcam software.
