While the Sony a6000 is a very popular mirrorless camera, unfortunately it does not work with the Imaging Edge Webcam software.
Luckily there are other ways to use the Sony a6000 as a webcam.
The product code/name for the Sony a6000 is ILCE-6000.
As you can see from the screenshot below, the ILCE-6000 does not show up in the list of compatible cameras for Imaging Edge Webcam.

There are other similar Sony cameras that can be used as a USB webcam with the Imaging Edge Webcam software.

Other Ways to Use The Sony a6000 as a Webcam
You can use a HDMI capture card like the Elgato Cam Link 4K or a similar product from other brands.
You will need the following:
- Your Sony a6000 camera
- Elgato Cam Link 4K
- Micro HDMI (Type D) to HDMI (Type A) cable
- Dummy battery kit
